Located in the North Woods this structure for the By Scouts of America, Three Harbors Council, provides a new conservation center for Lefeber Camp. The center is situated on a hill overlooking a lake within the camp. Carefully located on the site to minimize the removal of trees, the center was also placed on wood piers to minimize the ecological damage to the site itself. Designed and constructed with LEED standards in mind, the center is used frequently as a teaching tool for scouts within the camp learning about conservation methods and approaches.
The structure is built primarily of timber to lower its carbon footprint and to reflect the surrounding North Woods environment. The facility contains a display area, computer area, as well as an outdoor theater.
