Lumber Storage Building

Adaptive Reuse, Unbuilt Architecture

Originally constructed in 1904 for the St. Louis World’s Fair, the Farley & Loetscher Lumber Shed was deconstructed and shipped to Dubuque, Iowa, as an open-air lumber storage building. Purchased by Gronen Properties, the building was re-envisioned as the headquarters for a large company. This new office construction conveyed an image of innovation, collaboration, and excitement in the company and created a stunning working environment. Since the company eventually pursued a different opportunity, we know of a good building in Dubuque, if you're interested.
