Public Space Architecture
In the summer of 2014, the City of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, requested a proposal to convert an existing city parking lot into a pocket park. Our design team developed six patterns and design vignettes that conveyed a strong sense of place for this vital Center in the East Tosa Neighborhood. The proposal demonstrated a design process in which the outcome was not pre-determined but unfolded in conjunction with the public and city officials through meetings and forums. The GCA proposal was selected as a finalist but was not awarded the project.
