Galbraith Carnahan’s Office Project
When the opportunity arose to renovate a 1920s storefront on Wauwatosa’s popular North Avenue, we jumped at it. Formerly a tanning salon, the building had been carved into a messy array of confined rooms and dark hallways. We removed all interior non-loadbearing walls to create an open, free-flowing, sense of space. The load-bearing wall down the center of the building helped divide the studio workspace and the more public reception, conference, and kitchenette rooms. The inclusion of local, handcrafted elements helped create a rich, warm interior that glows when viewed from the street on a cold winter night. Awards:
