Lakeside Natural Medicine, is a group of naturopathic doctors (ND) who focus on the treatment of common illnesses through herbal remedies, nutrition and lifestyle counseling. In many ways, their conversion of a dimly lit 1980’s office suite into their new clinic is a three-dimensional analogy to the work that they do for patients. When we first toured the space with them, the offices were a maze of dark plywood paneling, fluorescent lighting, and dropped ceilings. By removing these unnecessary and overly manufactured materials, we were able to get to the essence of the building.

The resulting space features raw brick walls, natural wood, and ample daylight through the large windows. A space should reinforce the values of the organization it houses and tell the story of the client. Lakeside’s new offices convey a natural, authentic, and clean environment that speaks from the same vocabulary as their treatment methods.
