The Water’s Edge project in Sheboygan involved the construction of 10 townhome condominiums on the site of a former lumber yard. The area had been undeveloped for many years due to the poor underlying soils. This development was finally made possible through the engineering of a geofoam and shallow concrete mat footing system. While relatively simple apearing on it’s exterior, there was extensive detailing involved to keep the project within Wisconsin’s more cost effective residential building code.
The narrow through units, with attached garages, provid an attractive, cost effective housing product in a neighborhood that hasn’t seen
new residential development in decades. Pulling inspiration from the nautical heritage of Sheboygan as well as the 19th century houses in
the surrounding neighborhood, the Water’s Edge project feels at home on it’s site.
